Forum Title: Where To Use Plumbing Grease
I'm going to be replacing a tub/shower (leaking) Diverter Spindle and Flow Control Spindle washers, packing nut, etc. Should I apply Plumbing Grease to any of these parts when I install them?

In my case it was the diverter which was leaking heavily. The new one that Symmons sent to me is working fine. The o-ring under the packing nut had a little seepage. The instructions say to use a wood or lag screw to remove the old diverter. I saw a youtube demo and the presenter had a tool with a threaded end to do this. I never thought that a lag screw would be in a plumber's toolkit.
